Our purpose is to serve girls of Moore county by making our properties and equipment available to them, and by assisting them in other ways as needed. Girl Scouts is the only organization using our services, but we are open to other girl group's requests.
MULTI-GROUP ACTIVITIES for the school year included:
Swim lessons at Dumas outdoor pool in summer and at YMCA in winter,
Day Camp, July at Taylor Ranch, average attendance 56. Four Trust
members were involved. Used the Trust bus, van, camping and cooking
equipment, latrines. seven girls (6th graders) were taught canoeing at
Lake Meredith. They used the Trust van, canoes, PFD's, safety equipment, and the cabin at Bugbee Shores.
First Aid and C.P.R. Instruction at Girls' Center, taught by Trust member and office manager. 8 adults certified. Used Trust TV/VCR and teaching materials. (Red Cross course)
Sing Along, November, sponsored by the Trust at Girls' Center. 100 Girl Scouts, friends, and adult leaders attended. Trust provided hot dogs and event patches for all. Pilot Club gave head-safety program. Two Trust members were involved.
Leader Appreciation Dinner, Dec., sponsored Scout adults and spouses. Pilot Club catered. Girl's Center kitchen and 1big room were used.
Girl Scouts - Parents Banquet, February, at Community Building. Used Trust cooking and serving coolers. Two Trust members involved.
Weekly meeting by girl groups at the Girls' Center, parties, sleepovers, cooking times, outside games and sports, earning badges, practicing safety rules, flag ceremonies, programs with parents invited, and doing
projects to benefit the community_
Moore County Girls Trust gives support and actual help as needed. Our facilities afford a safe and adequate place for group meetings and activities.
