City Commission meet in Regular Session on January 3, 2011 with a call to order and invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance - Michael L. Funk. There were no attending citizens or other business.
Consent Agenda was two items approved the December 20, 2010 Regular City Commission minutes and approved paying the bills.Formal Session
1. Approved Proclamation "Shop Local Day" presented by Wanda Brooks to recognize every 20th of the month as "Shop Local Day"
2. Resignation of Don Parsons, City Commissioner Place 3 see following story for more information and a another city election will be held in May to fill this position.
3. Approve purchase of remote methane leak detector equipment for gas department from Heath Consultants.
4. Approved bids:
a. Landfill department 4 X 4 dually pickup. The city sent 22 bid requests and only five responses were received. Of the five responses the commissioners went with the bid from Culberson-Stowers, Inc. out of Pampa, Texas. $35,740.65 for a 2011 Chev 6.6L V8 turbodiesel, 4WD, Automatic
b. Public works equipment needed were:
I. Dump truck
2. Wheel loader
3. Motorgrader
The bid on two Dump Trucks were approved as were a bid on a wheel loader and motorgrader
Work Session
1. Discussion on purchasing policy was discussed and then the commissioners adjourned.
