Mike Running Dumas EDC Director, Jack Klaus owner of Ralls Appliance, Spencer McElhannon, Entrepreneur Alliance

Spencer McElhannon of the Entrepreneur Alliance introduced the winner from Borger who won the State of Texas Small Business Award.  The office of the Governor and Texas Workforce Commission for "Model for Business Skill 2010" awarded this to Jack Klaus third generation owner of Ralls Appliances.  Spencer McElhannon spoke very highly of Mr. Klaus Business Plan that he presented to him when Jack wanted to buy the family business.  Prior to owning Ralls Appliance Mr. Klaus was one of the youngest press secretary in Washington D.C.  Jack Klaus is thinking outside the box in the appliance business because he wants your dollars to stay in Borger and Hutchinson County.  You can go to the big stores in Amarillo but will they deliver it when you want it or help in a timely matter if you need service???  Jack Klaus is making sure his customers are happy and glad they did business local.  Jack is innovative in advertising also.  For every five appliances priced $399 and up purchased the first two weeks of December, Ralls Appliance in partnership with GE, United Supermarkets and the Salvation Army, will donate a new refrigerator full of groceries to a local family in need.  So far they have given sixteen refrigerator and this is just one of the reasons why Jack Klaus is receiving this well earned award.
Jack and his wife are expecting twins in April and then watch out you may see Ralls Appliance expanding in other parts of the Texas Panhandle.  For more information on Ralls Appliance click here.
