Students Recognized At School Board Meeting

Students from the Dumas High School Building Trades program were recognized at Monday night's School Board meeting.  Eddie Crossland did a presentation of the many projects the students had done in a slide show.  The students have been involved in several projects in the district, including construction of the Dumas Demon Plaza at High School.  You can see the Plaza at the northeast corner of that campus.  The students also presented the school board with ink pens made from the wood of a big elm tree that had to be cut down from the campus of the high school.


School Board also congratulated Austin Swaim who won Swine Skillithon at the San Antonio Stock, Bringing with it a $10,000 scholarship.  Other show results are:
Tarleton State Judging Contest

  • Livestock Judging Team placed 16th out of 251 teams
  • Austin Swaim noted as 2nd high individua
Texas Tech Judging Contest
  • Livestock Judging Team placed 17th out of 191 teams
  • Dairy Cattle Team placed 17th out of 52 teams
  • Cotton Team placed 25th
  • Horse Team placed 52nd out of 1118 teams
Clarendon College Judging Contest
  • Livestock Judging placed 4th out of 166
  • Austin Swaim was 6th high individual
