I would like to take this opportunity to remind you all of the sales tax holiday that starts tomorrow, Friday, August 19, and continues thru Sunday, August 21. As in previous years, Texas shoppers will get a break from state and local sales taxes on most clothing and footwear priced under $100. With changes made by the 81st Legislature, families can also purchase backpacks and school supplies valued under $100 for elementary and secondary school students without paying sales and use tax.
