Ron Wilson Is Nominated For Good Neighbor Award

Angie Jordan presenting Ronnie Wilson with the Good Neighbor Award

McCoy Buchenau and family nominated Ronnie Wilson for the Good Neighbor Award

Ronnie Wilson has been McCoy's school bus driver for over 2 years, in this time he saw  the need for a wheelchair ramp.  Ronnie built this ramp for the Buchenau family to help make it easier for everyone to get McCoy in and out of their home.  Last summer McCoy got a new wheelchair that was wider than the ramp that Ronnie built for them.  When school started again and Ronnie saw that McCoy's chair would not go down the ramp any more.  Ronnie showed up after work to make the adjustments for McCoy to easily go up and down the ramp again.  Nominating Ronnie Wilson for the Good Neighbor award was one of the ways to say thanks to Ronnie Wilson.

Museum/Art Center Open House Last Saturday

Christmas Open House at Window on the Plains Museum and The Art Center was a big success, even though the weather did not do much to cooperate. Over 170 people braved the cold to come enjoy the celebration of Christmas.

Mrs. Santa entertained children during the morning with stories. Most children would climb in her lap to hear her animated stories. Refreshments of hot apple cider, coffee and a variety of breads were served to visitors.
Santa was at the museum during the afternoon to hear Christmas wishes and give gifts to children. A group of violin students of Evan Robertson entertained during the afternoon with carols. The students were Ana Bell Barker, Holly Wilhelm, Gillian Darcy, Cooper Hokanson, Calvin Barker, Deran Running and Emily Wilhelm.
A Members Show and Sale was displayed in The Art Center and featured art work by members of Moore County Art Association. Most of the items were available for sale for Christmas gift giving or home decorating. Refreshments of cookies, candy, punch, hot cider and coffee were served to visitors.
Door prizes were awarded throughout the day.
Decorations at both the museum and The Art Center will remain up through Christmas. Both centers are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Mrs. Santa reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to young museum visitors.

Wishful Thinking

I sit here writing this post when I should be preparing to go to work....shower, make-up, dressing, etc.
Instead I am sitting here writing a post about how much I wish I could stay home with my dog and two cats.  I want to work, I just don't want to go to work!!  I want all the benefits of working...money, insurance and the feel of accomplishment with a job well done.  I tried not going to work for three years and what it got me was a fun time with my grown son but then reality set in.  Bills, groceries, yada , yada.

I wrote for an online paper and loved it but at last it didn't pay the bills.  But it made me feel like I could do anything.  I want that feeling back.  I want to make money doing something I love.

So time to get ready and one day I will get that feeling back and make money doing it.
