Observe These Signs

Have you noticed signs like this with the bicycle and with a motorcycle on them around town?  City of Dumas ask that you be aware of the cyclist and motorcyclist in Dumas as you are out and about in our fair city of Dumas.

Also as an extra precautionary measure be careful for the children is the school zones this and every week as school starts.  Our police department will be out reminding you how important the safety of the children are if you are caught driving over 20 mph in the school zones or are using a cell phone.

Pool Closing For Summer

The city pool is getting ready close.  Hope it will be as much fun as the first day seen here.

To the Citizens of Senate District 31:
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you all of the sales tax holiday that starts tomorrow, Friday, August 19, and continues thru Sunday, August 21. As in previous years, Texas shoppers will get a break from state and local sales taxes on most clothing and footwear priced under $100. With changes made by the 81st Legislature, families can also purchase backpacks and school supplies valued under $100 for elementary and secondary school students without paying sales and use tax. More information, as well as a complete list of exempt items, can be found on the Comptroller of Public Accounts' website.
Sincerely,
